Athletic Trainer
Job Description:
Training Services: The services of the Trainer will be directed by the Winslow High School Athletic Director.
- Daily training room hours will be provided during each season of sport. During these hours, the Trainer will provide/oversee pre-practice care and rehabilitation for injured athletes. The Trainer will meet with the student team managers and student athlete trainers to provide guidance and instruction in regards to practice and game routines.
- The Trainer will be available at all High School home events and provide initial care and management of injuries at these events. Minor injuries will be treated on-site at no additional cost to the District or athlete. In addition, pre-game athletic duties are the responsibility of the Trainer (meeting with opposing team Trainer/Managers and supplying water stations for each team).
- The Trainer will provide the necessary training and information for all Head Coaches on head injuries and proper hydration of athletes.
- The Trainer will serve as the liaison between Sports Physicians, Physical Therapists, High School personnel, and athletic parent regarding services and treatments of injured athletes.
- The District or High School may request additional services that will benefit various District Stakeholders.
Minimum Qualification:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related area.
- Currently licensed as an Athletic Trainer with the State of Arizona Board of Athletic Training.
- Possess a Board of Certification (BOC) Athletic Trainer Certificate
- Possess or have the ability to obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Two years experience in working with students in a sports medicine environment preferred.
- Must currently possess (or have the ability to obtain upon hire) CPR, AED and First Aid certifications
